FAQ

Q: How do I connect my Wiimote to my Computer?
A: WiiLi has a number of excellent tutorials on how to connect your WiiMote to your computer, using BlueSoleil, Kensington, or Windows' native Bluetooth support (Widdcom). We prefer BlueSoleil, as it has proven to be the most reliable solution we've found.

Q: Yeah, so how do I use BlueSoleil to connect a Wiimote to my computer?
A: First, plug in your Bluetooth dongle. If you have internal Bluetooth, then you don't need to worry. Next, install BlueSoleil. Double-click the fancy new "Bluetooth Places" icon. Hold down '1' and '2' on the Wiimote and double-click "Search Devices" while the Wii Remote's four LEDs are blinking. Now you should see a device called Nintendo RVL-CNT-01. Double-click the device while holding down '1' and '2' on the Wii Remote. If the Nintendo RVL-CNT-01 icon changes from blue to green, you're golden. Go play some Errantry.

Q: Why doesn't my computer see the Wii Remote when I search for a Bluetooth device?
A: Make sure your Wii Remote is advertising its presence. Hold down the '1' and '2' buttons on the Wii Remote while you are searching. If that fails to work, try removing the cover to the battery bay on the back of the Wii Remote. Instead of holding down '1' and '2', hold down the small red 'SYNC' button in the battery bay.

Q: Why doesn't Errantry respond even with my Wii Remote connected?
A: Certain old versions of BlueSoleil don't always transmit the Wii Remote data correctly. It's best to update to BlueSoleil 5.0.5 if you are having this problem.

Q: Why does my computer fail to connect to the Wii Remote that it has already found?
A: Often low batteries will prevent a Wii Remote from transmitting a strong signal. Replace you batteries and try to connect using the red 'SYNC' button in the battery bay.
